Gimnasio La Montaña Begins the 2026–2027 School Year with a Community Mass

The new school year began with a special gathering to place in God’s hands the challenges, lessons, and opportunities that we will experience together as a community.

Every new beginning opens the door to new paths. For this reason, the opening Mass was an opportunity to pause, give thanks, and remember the meaning of walking together as the Gimnasio La Montaña community.

During the celebration, students and teachers reflected on the challenges that this new school year will bring and on the importance of facing them with confidence, effort, and determination. There will be easy moments and others that will demand more from us; what matters is to keep moving forward, to “row” with strength, and to trust in God and in those who accompany us along the way.

At GLM, we know that no one reaches the summit alone. We need one another to learn, grow, overcome challenges, and enjoy the journey. This spirit was present throughout different moments of the celebration, including the arrival of our 11th-grade students at the Fundadores Building alongside their younger buddies—a heartwarming scene that brought smiles and warmth to those in attendance.

The Mass was also a time to give thanks for the privilege of learning and growing together, for the friendships that are beginning to blossom, and for the teachers who will accompany each student throughout their learning journey. These are the experiences that bring to life the values that shape the GLM spirit.

A Farewell Filled with Gratitude
On September 4, the GLM community gathered to bid farewell to Monsignor Cotrino, who, after more than 30 years at Gimnasio La Montaña, is concluding his service as the school’s chaplain.

For so many years of service, guidance, and closeness to our community, we express our deepest gratitude to him and wish him all the best as he begins this new chapter.

This is how we begin this school year: grateful for what lies behind us, ready to embrace the challenges ahead, and confident that the journey is better when we walk it together.
