What ages are admissions open for?
Enrollment is open for children born between October 1, 2021 and September 30, 2023.
– Kinder 4: begins in August 2027.
– Kinder 5: can begin in August 2027 or 2028.
When are the admissions info sessions?
Admissions info sessions begin in August of each year. On our admissions page you’ll find the available dates and can register.

For applicants from Transición through 10th Grade, the enrollment process and corresponding dates are available through the admissions form.
What is the school schedule?
The school day runs from 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
What extracurricular activities does the school offer?
We offer a wide range of extracurricular activities across three areas:
– Sports: basketball, volleyball, soccer, gymnastics, track and field, and chess.
– Recreational activities: chess, magic, elite choir, Fanzaquira, Media Club, Cooking, Politics Club, Fashion Club, and PECA.
– Arts: School of Rock, elite choir, theater and dance, marching band, and Musical.
Sports training takes place in the morning, from 6:40 a.m. to 8:40 a.m., and afternoon activities run from 3:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Most activities have no additional cost. PECA is the only activity with an additional fee.
What languages do students learn?
At Gimnasio La Montaña, our students are trained in Spanish, English, and French.
Students finish their school years with a C1 level in English and begin French in 7th grade, with a projected level of B2 by the end of their schooling.
What is preschool like at Gimnasio La Montaña?
In preschool, we foster the skills and competencies needed for formal schooling through a project-based methodology that starts from the children’s own questions.
This approach promotes critical thinking, respect for others and for their surroundings, a love of learning, curiosity, and ongoing questioning of the world around them.
Our process is guided by four reference frameworks:
– Belonging and contribution.
– Self-regulation and well-being.
– Reading, writing, and math behaviors.
– Innovation and problem-solving.
We also provide a friendly, safe environment and work on emotional literacy through our Conscious Discipline program, strengthening self-regulation and social-emotional skills both inside and outside the classroom.
What International Baccalaureate program does Gimnasio La Montaña offer?
Our educational program includes the AP® Capstone Diploma and a portfolio of more than 12 Advanced Placement (AP) courses.
The program is built on College Board curricula and exams, allowing students to design a high-quality curricular plan, choose courses based on their interests, and pursue certifications that support their academic and professional future.
Starting in 9th grade, students can take various AP courses according to their academic and professional goals. By the end of their schooling, a Gimnasio La Montaña student will have completed nine AP courses.
How does the homework policy work?
We have a homework policy tailored to each grade and stage of development. Homework serves one of these purposes: inquiry, practice, reading, or studying.
Time and complexity increase progressively: from about 20 minutes per week in Kinder 5 to 10 hours per week in 11th grade.
Additionally, through 7th grade, homework cannot require the use of electronic devices. From elementary school onward, 50% of weekly homework time must be dedicated to reading, and homework is never assigned overnight.
What is Project Based Learning at GLM?
Through 4th grade, we implement the Project Based Learning (PBL) model, in which students build knowledge through authentic questions, real-world situations, and meaningful challenges.
Projects integrate different areas of knowledge and strengthen skills such as collaboration, communication, autonomy, curiosity, and critical thinking.
At the same time, each project has clear goals, well-defined assessment criteria, and intentional teacher guidance, ensuring students grasp the fundamental learning outcomes.
Does Gimnasio La Montaña offer differentiated programs?
Yes. We have an inclusion program for students with particular learning needs, as well as a differentiation program aimed at the entire student community.
We start from the premise that every person is unique and learns in different ways. That’s why our classrooms aim to respond to diversity, build on each student’s strengths, and support them through their challenges so that everyone can reach the goals set out in the curriculum.
Differentiation is carried out, among other strategies, through the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) model and the Multi-Tiered Support System (MTSS).
How does the MTSS support program work?
The Multi-Tiered Support System (MTSS) is implemented in math from 1st to 4th grade, English from Kinder 5 to 8th grade, and Spanish from Kinder 5 to 9th grade.
Through assessment, the skills that need support are identified. Students initially receive support within the classroom and, when necessary, can move on to more targeted levels of intervention, with individual or small-group work sessions and ongoing monitoring.
How does the inclusion program work?
The school has an inclusion model for students with particular learning needs. Depending on the needs of each case, the necessary curricular adjustments or modifications are made to support their learning process.
